Five Mustangs Named to All Region Team

The 2011 Region IX North Awards were handed out and Western Wyoming Community College made its presence felt. The Mustangs placed five players on the All Region Team.

Leading the charge was 2010 Player and Freshman of the Year Olivera Medic who was picked by the coaches to be the 2011 Player of the Year. Medic posted 459 kills on the season and picked up 499 digs. Her 3.91 kills per set average places her eighth in the NJCAA stat rankings.

Makayla Keck was named Setter of the Year. Keck dished out 1360 assists in 123 sets for an 11.05 assist per set average, first in the nation.

Arielle Allen, Viktorija Teivane, and Cori Perrault were all named to the All Region Team. Allen had 282 kills and hit .259 on the season. She added 91 blocks. Teivane put down 303 kills and hit .239 on the season. She also picked up 366 digs and 59 aces for 19th in the NJCAA. Perrault dug up 514 balls this season. The heart of the defense and serve receive also had 36 aces.

Medic, Teivane, and Perrault picked up All Region awards in 2010.
